Beginners cycling tips
We know that starting off riding a bike can be daunting, lipless pedals that you clip in to, more gears than you know what to do with and there is so much to think about before it all becomes second nature.
We've put together a short series of videos to show newcomers to cycling some of the real basics that are often neglected and can leave newer riders feeling a bit out of their depth.

We start with clipping your foot in - a simple task when you've don't it for years but it's something that is easy for beginners to get wrong. Watch our video and spend some time practicing until you are happy with it. Don't forget to practice unclipping and putting the free foot down.
Stopping is probably more important to learn than starting! This video shows how you should approach a T junction, paying attention to any oncoming traffic, slowing down, releasing your soot from the pedal and slowing to a halt.
Mounting the bike and starting to ride is another skill that seems obvious but again, there is a right way to do this. Our video shows how to mount the bike and safely start off riding.
